And so Harvest begins...
After our endless Winter, and almost non-existent Spring, we are poised to set a new record for The Latest Start to Harvest Ever. Our previous record was July 13th...Today we were going to smash that record, and begin.
Okay, I know it is only one day -- but when you are accustomed to starting Harvest in late June or early July, this seems like a long time coming.
So today, July 14th, is the day...Or it was supposed to be...because it looks like this outside:

Even The Little Opportunist was stopped in her tracks when the door opened to the outside...
...just not worth it for her -- so you know it's pretty bad!
It's 9:45am and our weather station says that we have had .95 inches of rain since midnight -- and because it was barely showering when we got up at 7am, most of it has come in the last 2 hours...
Nope, we will not be picking today...
I think The Farmer has found the only sensible action for this kind of Harvest day...
Apparently The Latest Harvest Start Ever Record will be broken tomorrow.
We hope...
Update: By the end of the day, the rain total was 1.91"!
